FIELD: welding. SUBSTANCE: electron beam specific power is previously modulated by impressing ac voltage of preset frequency to beam current and (or) to focusing lens current of electron gun; electron beam focusing is set to amplitude of variable component of secondary current whose frequency is equal to specific power modulation frequency. Electron beam welding device has electron gun 1 with focusing lens 2, electron collector 9, load resistor 3 with series-connected source 4 whose second pole is connected with electron collector, and also filter 5 and amplitude detector 6. Introduced additionally into device are beam specific power control unit 8 connected by outputs to electron gun and focusing lens, and alternating voltage generator 7 whose output is connected with one of inputs of electron beam specific power control unit, output of amplitude detector being connected to second input of electron beam specific power control unit. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of electron beam focusing current control at welding without deep penetration. 2 cl, 2 dwg
