FIELD: production of high molecular weight compounds. SUBSTANCE: magnesium is used as reagent 1, chlorbenzene and tetraethoxy silane being used as reagent 2. Reaction is carried out in the presence of intermediate products which contain chlorbenzene, phenyl trichlorosilane and component having high boiling point or phenyl trichlorosilane and component having high boiling point, volume ratio of tetraethoxy silane and said intermediate products being (68.5-3.9):1. Desired product represents mixture of phenyl ethoxysilane which contains (mass %): PhH 2.2-2.3, PhCl 1.4-4.9, Ph2 0.8-1.3, Si(OEt)4 35-45, RhSi(OEt)3 24-33, Ph2Si(OEt)2 11-14.
