FIELD: metallurgical industry. SUBSTANCE: method improves technical and economical indices, reduces content of impurities in ready steel and consumption of scrap, prolongs stability of refractory lining. According to method, left in bath is part of melt of preceding cycle, hard metal charge is loaded, cast iron is poured in, bath is blown with oxygen, slag-forming components are introduced. Left in converter bath is 3-25% of melt of preceding burden mass. Used as hard charge is prepared combination in the form of conglomerate of iron-containing alloy and oxidic material which is loaded to remaining metal in amount of 5-40% of burden mass, then cast iron is poured in and bath is blown with oxygen. Also possible is additionally to load metal scrap together with prepared charge in relation of 1:(0.1-10.0). Advisable is to use prepared charge with content of oxygen by 5-30% higher than required for complete oxidizing of all components in bath possessing higher attraction to oxygen as compared with iron. Possible to use as prepared charge is conglomerate containing iron-holding alloy, oxidic material and carbon-containing additives. Advisable is to use prepared charge in the form of lumps with mass of 5-12 kg and 18-45 kg in relation of 1:(0.3-1) respectively. Process of bath decarbonization is started earlier, intensive agitation of metal by carbon oxide bubbles improves mass-exchange processes in bath volume and ensures stable process of decarbonization.
