FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method of treating steel melt outside of a furnace in a ladle with use of powdered calcium-containing wire allows to enhance efficiency of calcium use, to ameliorate steel properties, depending upon sulfur content and content of non-metallic inclusions, to decrease quantity of harmful waste to atmosphere. EFFECT: enhanced quality of treated steel.
