FIELD: laser engineering; process, medical, research, and other installations. SUBSTANCE: method involves discrimination of electric signal proportional to radiation power, its comparison with reference electric signal, and pumping power control so that absolute difference between reference and power signals is reduced. Pumping power is amplitude modulated mainly by square-wave signal and modulating signal duty factor is increased when reference signal is higher than power signal or reduced when it is lower than power signal. In particular case of constant signal radiation power is stabilized. Device implementing this method has separate units for all stages of signal processing and pumping control and may be available of analog or digital option.
