FIELD: processing and burial of radioactive waste. SUBSTANCE: method involves selection for burial of a rock whose mineral association includes a mineral that can serve as a concentration of radioactive waste elements preliminarily of fractionated into elements or into groups of chemically similar elements; synthesis of this mineral with a layer content of radioactive element; production of matrix blocks by mixing of particles of radioactive mineral-concentration with filler consisting either of the rock proper, or of a mix of some minerals includes in its composition, and caking of the obtained mixture at a temperature. The filler may be preliminarily changed to a glassy state. Mix caking may be performed in some high-pressure apparatus, gas cabinet or autoclave in the presence of 0.3 to 1.0% of water at a draft pressure of 0.2 to 1 kbar and temperature of 500 to 850 C.
