FIELD: sealing equipment for sealing of various piston machines of internal combustion engines, compressors, well sucker-rod pumps. SUBSTANCE: composite piston ring has two similar rings installed in such a manner that the lock of one ring is overlapped by the boss of the other ring. The ring is overlapped by the boss of the other ring. The ring bosses are made on a half of the circumference of each ring over its entire width, and their height does not exceed a half of the ring height, and the mated surfaces of the bosses and ring end face are made at an angle of 90 deg to the latter.
