FIELD: thermal engineering, chemical, food, and other industries. SUBSTANCE: plate heat exchanger has uniflow or counter-flow channels formed on one side by separate plates 1, paired plates, on other side by stacked pairs of plates. In order to provide distribution of media admitted through inlet sections throughout entire channel width as they pass short axial inlet section, separate plates are furnished with lugs 2 of guide-vane type immersed in channels at least on one side. Some plates may be provided with surface roughness starting at inlet section and extending through entire width and length of channel, best of all in the form of many small bosses so as to create vortex within channels. EFFECT: improved intensity of heat transfer. 8 cl, 4 dwg
