FIELD: seismometry, seismology, hydrology, hydraulic engineering. SUBSTANCE: method enables parameters of heralds of earthquakes to be recognized, isolated, measured and checked. Anomalous signals of pickups of measurement systems of high dams are taken in the capacity of heralds. Time, area and parameters of anticipated earthquake are predicted by analogs from retrospective row of observations many years. Corrections by calibration curves for each pickup of control group of pickups are made. Calibration curves are plotted by data of regressive analysis of readings of control group of pickups during period of preparation of endured natural and excited earthquakes.
