FIELD: medicine; surgery. SUBSTANCE: atheroectomic catheter has flexible hollow tube. Tube has cutting head fastened to its peripheral working end. Case of cutting head is hollow and has side groove for placing material to be cut away. Cutting tool is mounted inside the case; the tool is connected with drive unit by flexible shaft. Flexible shaft is disposed in catheter's tube. Drive unit is disposed in hollow handle and has power source and engine connected mechanically with flexible shaft. Catheter is also provided with vacuum pump connected with channel of the tube, and conductor which is mounted inside the tube for removal. Cutting head of catheter is provided with unit for lateral shifting the head inside vessel. EFFECT: improved efficiency. 15 cl, 9 dwg
