FIELD: rolling of metals; horizontal and universal stands of rolling mill. SUBSTANCE: device has telescopic spindles with hinged heads connecting pinion stand with milling rolls, movable heads displacement cylinders, fixed heads locks and support with cradles. Head displacement cylinders are fitted on shafts of spindles, head locks are secured on pinion stand and support with cradles is rigidly mounted between heads connecting shafts with spindles and cylinders. Working surfaces of cradles are arranged with preset clearances relative to head surfaces. EFFECT: simplified design, improved reliability and efficiency of device owing to reduced number of drives and no necessity of adjustment in height for alignment of spindle head axis and milling roll shank axis. 2 cl, 2 dwg
