FIELD: hydrocracking and hydrogenation of phenol resin. SUBSTANCE: phenol resin is mixed with isopropyl benzene or hydrogenisate at 1:1 ratio by volume and mixture is then subjected to hydrocracking in the presence o hydrogen and crystalline magnesium silicate containing catalyst which comprises (wt%): 5 CoO; 15 MoO3; 10 magnesium silicate; γ-Al2O3-, the balance. The resulting hydrogenisate is further hydrogenated. Hydrocracking is carried out at 320-380 C, pressure of 3-4 MPA, feedstock rate of 3-4 h h-1 at hydrogen to feedstock ratio of 1000- 1200:1 l/l. Hydrogenation of hydrocracking products is carried out at 100-250 C, pressure of 3-4 MPa, volumetric rate of 1.5-2 h h-1 and hydrogen to feedstock ratio of 1000-1200:1 l/l. EFFECT: more efficient treatment method of phenol resin. 2 cl, 1 tbl
