FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: deforming members received in the passageways in a tool are set in vibration by way of a working agent and are moved along the surface to be worked. In working the frequency of vibration is varied to provide constant noise generated by interaction of the deforming members with the surface of a part to be worked. The unit for generating ultrasonic vibration is made up as a hollow resonator with the conic end face. The greater base of the truncated cone faces the resonator and form a slot nozzle together with the surface of the sleeve. The sleeve is spring-loaded and mounted inside the space of the housing for permitting axial movement to adjust. The tool is provided with a mechanism for axial loading of the sleeve made up as plunger and electromagnet. One of the end faces of the plunger interacts with the end face of the sleeve. The magnet is secured to the housing of the tool and encloses the outer surface of the plunger. As a result the force exerted by the deforming members on the surface to be worked is constant.
