FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: apparatus comprises chamber with opening for receiving instruments to be sterilized, and cover attached hinged to axial-end surfaces of chamber. The latter houses ultraviolet radiation source and means for holding instruments to be sterilized. Internal side surface of chamber is cylindrically shaped, while axial-end surfaces are elliptically shaped. Means for holding instruments is formed as planar quartz glass piece whose plane passes through lower focal axis of chamber, and radiation source, suitable ultraviolet lamp, is aligned along upper focal axis of chamber. Optionally, chamber can accommodate halogen-filled incandescent lamps generating strong infrared radiation which represents additional sterilizing factor, while lamps themselves serve to stabilize voltage during voltage variations in power supply circuit. Above and below instruments-holding means, in side surface of chamber, openings are formed for air admission and outflow. EFFECT: structurally simple, cheap and highly efficient apparatus for simultaneous sterilization of great number of medical instruments. 3 cl, 3 dwg
