FIELD: medicine, environmental control, treatment of liquid foodstuffs. SUBSTANCE: apparatus comprises cylindrical casing housing ultraviolet radiation source aligned along casing axis and enclosed in cylindrical shell which is transparent to ultraviolet rays. Casing also houses reservoir for collecting liquid treated by irradiation. Channel for liquid medium supply to casing is made in the form of branch pipe whose end carries plurality of nozzles bent so as to form Segner wheel. Branch pipe with its system of nozzles is movable along casing axis, whereby it is possible to vary angular velocity of rotating nozzles as liquid is supplied to them, and, ultimately, to form liquid layer of desired thickness on casing walls. In this manner, it becomes possible to prevent formation on casing walls of layer making obstacle to penetration of ultraviolet rays into depth of liquid, e.g. to prevent formation of fibrinous layer while subjecting blood to ultraviolet treatment. EFFECT: effective treatment of various liquid media by subjecting them to ultraviolet irradiation. 2 dwg
