FIELD: nondestructive inspection of parts, such as disks of gas-turbine engines made of heat-resistant alloys when determining their residual mechanical endurance at 20-1100 C. SUBSTANCE: X-ray photography of selected image (k by 1) on diffractometer is made with motionless source and detector while turning specimen about goniometer axis, and relative coefficient of X-ray spectrum irregularity N during parts inspection up to failure is determined. Data obtained are used to find basic dependence N = f(τ), where τ is operating time, then critical life tcr is determined. After that, X-ray photograph of analyzed part is taken and value of Nx corresponding to data obtained is determined. τx corresponding to Nx is found by means of basic dependence, and residual life of part is found from τres= τcr-τx..
