FIELD: testing engineering. SUBSTANCE: specimen is locked by grips mounted on movable supports that rock in the plane of bending of the specimen. Between the grips is a hummer which bends the specimen. The hummer is provided with a replaceable mandrel. A load exerted on the hummer may be converted into a stretching load by means of a wedge mechanism. The mechanism has detachable wedge, linings secured to the hummer and semi-cylindrical inserts interposed between the linings and grips. The inserts are conjugated with the grips through cylindrical surfaces. Two replaceable mandrels, being installed into the grips, provide a given condition of plastic strain in the bearing cross-sections of the specimen. EFFECT: expanded functional capabilities. 1 dwg
