FIELD: optical instruments, in particular, method for manufacturing of liquid-crystal displays which are used in devices for information displaying and processing. SUBSTANCE: method involves generation of glow discharge plasma from volatile carbonic hydrogen using high frequency or direct voltage. Substrates of liquid-crystal cells are located between electrodes of diode system being slanting with respect to flow of falling particles. Carbonic hydrogen radicals which are produced when carbonic hydrogen is decomposed, are polymerized on substrate surface using ions and electrons of plasma. This results in generation of amorphous carbonic hydrogen layer with anisotropic characteristics on substrate surface. Unidirectional uniform parallel orientation of crystals is produced when angle between flow of falling plasma particles and its projection to surface of substrates is in range of 5- 20 degrees. EFFECT: increased functional capabilities. 1 dwg
