FIELD: organic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: method involves treatment of thymidine with the help of organic reagent which blocks 5'-hydroxyl, activation of 3'-hydroxyl by mesyl chloride and cyclization with the help of salts of alkali metals by heating. Said treatment of 5'-hydroxyl is carried out within 70-80 h at 5-7 C. Into thus prepared product methyl sulfochloride and saccharose are added, their quantities (mol/mol) are 0.5-0.8:1 and 0.6-0.7: 1 respectively as calculated for origin thymidine. Mentioned above cyclization is carried out within 1.5-3 h at pH 6.0-7.5 with the help of aqueous-dixane solution of sodium carbonate at 80-84 C.
