FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to organic chemistry, namely to a process for the preparation of drotaverine hydrochloride, which is carried out in the following steps: the step of obtaining diethoxynitrile by chloromethylation of orthoethyethoxybenzene with hydrogen chloride, formalin in the presence of calcium chloride in a trichlorethylene medium, further, the cyanidation step of the preparation of diethoxybenzyl chloride using interfacial catalysis using potassium iodide, triethylamine, acetone; then a step for preparing diethoxynitrile diethoxyphenylacetic acid and diethoxyamine; further, the condensation step of diethoxyphenylacetic acid and diethoxyamine (preparation of ethoxyamide); cyclization of ethoxyamide with phosphorus oxychloride; and further the step of recrystallization of technical drotaverine hydrochloride.
EFFECT: technical result: a new method for obtaining drotaverine hydrochloride with a high yield of the target compound is developed.
