FIELD: welding production, process of electric slag depositing by welding in particular; method is used to produce two-layer blanks for following hot sheet rolling. SUBSTANCE: flat blank of carbon steel is subjected to electric slag depositing of austenite class corrosion-resistant steel layer by welding. In the case blank heating is exercised with following depositing by welding of one its side. Heating is exercised from side opposite to deposited by welding side up to deposited by welding surface temperature of 300 - 450 C. Temperatures gradient along blank thickness of 5.5 - 8.7 deg C/cm is created. EFFECT: improved process. 1 tbl
