FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: cutting tool is provided with an additional projection having cutting plates that are arranged symmetrically to the major projection with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cutting tool. The width of each additional cutting plate of the major projection is greater than the width of respective cutting plate of the additional projection. The areas of the working surfaces of the projections are the same. The width of the cutting plates of both of the projections decreases in the direction of the holder of the cutting tool.
