FIELD: strength testing of materials. SUBSTANCE: in agreement with process identer penetrates tested sample with constant load. Indenter has completion in the form of cone with angle of 90 deg. Hardness is recorded and used to determine depth of indentation. After removal of load height and diameter of collar zone are measured and these parameters are used to find yield point of material.
