FIELD: environmental control facilities. SUBSTANCE: plant can be used for cleaning surface of water basins from oil and petroleum products spilt on water surface due to breakdowns on oil producing sea installations, oil pipelines and when transporting oil by tankers. Plant has vessel installed on ship for collecting water together with oil and petroleum products, pumps for pumping out water and water together with petroleum products, pipelines, floating barrier, and floating gathering device made up of two truncated cones located coaxially one above other and oriented with their truncated vertices upwards, and curved strips installed between truncated cones bent in plan according to Archimedes' spiral and symmetrically spreading from center of gathering device towards its periphery. Due to operation of pumps, water with oil and petroleum products is moving in passages between curved strips directed to reservoirs for separating water from oil and petroleum products.
