INSTALLATION FOR DISCHARGING PETROLEUM RESIDUE AND SLIME FROM RESERVOIR BOTTOM Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: technique for cleaning water basins and reservoirs from petroleum and oil, possibly removal of petroleum and oil residue from bottoms of water basins and reservoirs in oil processing plants and bulk plants. SUBSTANCE: installation includes clamping apparatus with flexible hose for removing petroleum residue and slime; receiver joined with vacuum pump by means of pipeline system with lock fitting, mechanism for moving clamping apparatus. The last is in the form of disc with central through opening. Metallic plates are bent in the form of Archimedean helix, extend from center of disc opening towards its edges and are secured to lower surface of disc normally to it. Elastic belts of polymeric material are secured to lower edges of plates along their whole length. Flexible hose is provided with branch pipe joined with it and secured to disc by means of ball joint mounted in central opening of disc. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of process for removing petroleum residue and slime from bottom of reservoir. 2 cl, 5 dwg
