FIELD: increase of surface quality of fibers difficult to be deformed and with non-round cross-section during processing by scalping of quickly cooled titanium fiber produced from molten bath and used for production of titanium microfibers with flat surface of round cross-section; method and apparatus are used in medicine, aerospace industry, chemical industry and other branches of national economy. SUBSTANCE: method of microfiber processing provides for continuous feeding of blank into site of deformation and its following sizing. Blank is fed as double twisted spiral and is scalped during reciprocation. In the case, during scalping and sizing single direction pressing tension is applied to blank. Method is realized by apparatus, that has pair of flat threading dies, that have sizing sections with valleys on surface. Apparatus is distinguished for the fact, that it has a set of scalping-sizing threading dies mounted in pairs snugly to each other with alternation in vertical and horizontal planes. In the case, valleys on surface of each pair of threading dies are located oppositely to each other and surface between valleys is flat. Method and apparatus provide increase of quality of surface of fibers difficult to be deformed and with non-round cross-section, in particular produced by quick cooling out of molten bath, and increase of their strength.
