FIELD: sorption technique. SUBSTANCE: method involves two-stepped impregnation of active coal by solution of halogenides of elements from the I and II groups and drying. At the first step impregnation is carried out with the help of aqueous solution of calcium chloride and lithium chloride at their ratio (2.5-4.0):1 respectively. At the second step said impregnation is carried out with the help of aqueous solution of lithium chloride and lithium bromide, their ratio being (0.5-1.5):1 respectively. Ratio of coal pores and volume of the solution on the both steps of impregnation is 0.4-0.6. Active coal having total volume of pores 0.7-1.0 cum. cm is used as a base, concentration of lithium chloride at the first step of impregnation is calculated according to given ratio .
