FIELD: chemical technology, sorbents. SUBSTANCE: method involves mixing the ground carbon-containing material with binding agent, granulation, carbonization and activation of granules. Activation of granules were carried out at 850-950 C up to 20-40 wt.-% combustion loss and then at the same temperature up to 42-70 wt.-% combustion loss; after each activation coal is cooled to 20-50 C at the rate of temperature decrease 10-40 C/min without air inlet.
