FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: in electric thermal production of silicon from silica- containing blend, the latter contains petroleum coke with particle size +5-8 mm in amount 3.5-6 wt %. The coke, prior to be loaded into furnace, is mixed first with wood chips to produce homogeneous mass, to which charcoal, petroleum coke, and coal are then added.
