FIELD: refractory materials and heat insulation technics. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to refractory constructional materials which can be used in heat-insulation production in metallurgy and aircraft engineering. Purpose of invention is to develop such process which, with no complication and no essential investments, would provide manufacture of low-density light-weight heat-insulation material manifesting no shrinkage when baked and possessing bearing constructional properties and high heat-insulation characteristics. To that end, suspension is used obtained when stirring discrete carbon fibers in dispersion thermoplastic liquid (glycerol, polyglycols, petroleum oils, or mixture of pitch with indicated liquids) followed by removing a part of dispersion liquid through nutsch filter and shaping a stock in press mold. The stock is subjected to baking and compacting with pyrolyzed carbon. The thus manufactured heat-insulation material is characterized by filaments of carbon fibers arranged parallel to surface of later manufactured objects.
