FIELD: nuclear physics, manufacture of targets for high-energy beams. SUBSTANCE: process of manufacture of target from isotope of carbon includes pressing of starting substance with addition of binder. Workpiece manufactured after pressing is held in flow of methane at temperature 850-950 C in the course of 1 to 2 min and then is cooled. Process makes it possible to manufacture target with natural core which ensures substantial reduction of level of background. EFFECT: substantial reduction of level of background of target. 1 tbl
