FIELD: rolling equipment, namely supports of bar and rod rolling mills having frame-free prestressed stands. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for radial adjustment of roll of prestressed rolling stand includes mounted in chock eccentric sleeve inside which bearing unit of roll is mounted, cover for axial fixation of eccentric sleeve relative to chock, drive unit for rotating eccentric sleeve. Said sleeve has variable-thickness wall with thickened portion in the form of toothed sector whose teeth are constantly engaged with rotation drive unit. Rotation angle of eccentric sleeve is limited due to engagement of bearing surfaces of its sector-shaped thickened portion and chock. Symmetry plane of said thickened portion is normal relative to plane passing through axes of turnings of said eccentric sleeve. EFFECT: increased axial carrying capacity due to use of radial thrust ball bearing of larger diameter; reduced cost of making parts of liquid-friction bearings due to use of standard sleeve-trunnion, lowered time period for correcting roll gap due to limited rotation angle of eccentric sleeve being constantly in zone of effective adjustment, increased service life period of roll due to larger range of using its barrel. 5 dwg
