FIELD: medicine; surgery. SUBSTANCE: proposed patient's head holder comprises stationary link 1, to which is rigidly attached ball 2 housed by casing 3. Ball 2 is urged by friction block 4 associated with electromagnet 5. Lever 6 carrying at its end ball 7 with spring-urged friction block 8, is fixedly attached to casing 3, friction block 8 being enclosed in casing 9. Latter is rigidly attached to lever 10 carrying bracket 11 adapted to position patient's head. Casings 3 and 9 accommodate electromagnets 5 and 12 which are energized by simultaneously pressing onto foot pedal 14 and pushbutton 15. EFFECT: great convenience for surgeon; additional safety for patient, since unit is put into operation only by simultaneously pressing onto foot pedal and pushbutton. 1 dwg
