FIELD: application of metal film protective and corrosion-resistant coatings onto wire and braided wire. SUBSTANCE: the installation has a vacuum chamber with cleaning and sprayer units, tensioning device and carrier rotary cooled shafts, one or several successively connected lock chambers with a wire inlet and outlet and with an odd number of sealing synchronously rotating rollers and drive take-up and feed reels. The sprayer unit is made in the form of magnetron sprayers installed in pairs opposite each other, and the cleaning unit is made in the form of ion-ray cleaning sources positioned opposite each other, separated into production sections with means of plasma-forming gas feed to the zone of treatment. EFFECT: enhanced quality of applied coatings in conditions of high vacuum and reduced wire tension in the process of treatment. 6 cl, 4 dwg
