FIELD: manufacture of composite materials. SUBSTANCE: sample of composite material is manufactured by casting of melt into ceramic or graphite dish which forms hard mould where thin-layer laminations and/or fibres, bundles and other reinforcing elements are arranged in parallel to its axis. Dish is heated in advance to temperature close to temperature of melt. Heating of dish and casting of melt are performed in atmosphere of protective gas. After cooling of dish with rate preventing formation of cracks in sample specimen of required shape is manufactured from produced material and is used to determine thermophysical characteristics by one of known methods. When selecting substance of mould one should take into account thermal compatibility of melt with examined material in process of manufacture and testing of sample. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of determination of such thermophysical characteristics as thermal diffusivity, thermal conductivity and so on. 2 cl, 1 tbl
