FIELD: production of fine purification filtering or production of reinforcing casings composition materials with given mechanical properties and strength for chemical industry, cryogenics, aviation and motor-car equipment. SUBSTANCE: porous material production method provides for making a braid of metal fibres and base fibre, making nets of it, assemble nets in a pack, its deformation in limits of elastic deformations range during sintering till pack gets shape of piece. Sintering is exercised under temperature of 0.9-0.95 of metal fibres smelting temperature. In case of using fibres of different metals sintering is exercised under temperature of 1.05-1.15 of melting temperature of most fusible braid fibres. In case metal threads are used as base during netting, then they are removed after nets are made. Before pack shaping nets are subjected to plastic tension and groups are formed of them, fibres rows in which are placed at an angle of α = π/2N, with N number of nets in group is no less than two.
