FIELD: nuclear power engineering. SUBSTANCE: reactor power is continuously raised through core height to mean level of energy release of fuel elements of 240-290 W/cm at which power is maintained constant for at least 10 min. Further power increase to 700-800 W/cm is made with at least one intermediate delay of at least 10 min; starting from 700-800 W/cm, power level is raised in steps including single rise by maximum 100 W/cm followed by stopping its increase and maintaining this level for at least 10 min each time. Mentioned stepped uniform power increase is made to desired level and in case of emergency shutdown of hot reactor its power is continuously raised to 700-800 W/cm for 5 to 30 min. EFFECT: improved safety. 1 dwg
