FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves depositing rhodium or chromium onto the surface of a substrate made from graphite or beryllium oxide via chemical vapour deposition of volatile metal-containing compounds or, in short, a CVD process, with subsequent electrolytic deposition of the 57Co radionuclide on the surface of the substrate. The method enables to obtain 57Co sources with a transmission line with of not more than 0.12 mm/s with surface activity of 57Co of up to 500 mCu/cm2 in a metal matrix on substrates of any shape.
EFFECT: improved method.
