FIELD: medicine; orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: orthopedist must dissect ligaments along outer and inner surfaces of ankle joint, dissect ankle joint capsule along its entire circumference, immobilize distal portion of peroneal bone, and normalize position of heel bone and ankle bone. Next tendon of long flexing muscle of 1st finger is cut off and transferred onto outer surface of lower third of shin. In this position same cut tendon is stretched and attached in this tensioned condition to tendon of musculus peroneus longus. Two wire rods are passed through heel bone, one of which is passed outwards to penetrate inwards through superior- posterior margin of calcanean tuber, while other wire rod extends through inferior margin of anterior portion of heel bone. Wire rods are fixed in semicircle of Ilizarov apparatus. Cuboid bone body is subjected to resection in wedge-like manner from incision made on outer surface of foot. Wound is sutured and Ilizarov apparatus is applied onto foot and shin in order to eliminate remaining elements of congenital foot deformity. EFFECT: shorter treatment time; foot form and function restored; any relapse cases ruled out.
