FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: crystallizer has protective surfacing formed as portions of wear-resistant material in lower parts of working walls. Protective surfacing imparts increased abrasive wear resistance to working walls. Surfacing is effectuated by manual welding. Protective portions do not hinder mechanical working of crystallizer. Construction of crystallizer allows differentiated protection in maximum wear zones to be provided. EFFECT: increased efficiency, simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 4 dwg
