FIELD: metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention concerns rolls utilized in plants where steel is continuously cast into slabs. Roll mainly utilized for transporting slabs has body with, disposed on its surface, screw ledges with specified lead angle (15-30 deg.). Screw sledges are made with right and left directions divergent from center of body toward its ends. Ratio of ledge width to screw pitch is 0.57- 0.81.
