FIELD: mechanical engineering; welding; electric arc welding fluxes. SUBSTANCE: flux contains the following components, mas. %: magnesium oxide, 25-37; aluminium oxide, 10-20; calcium fluoride, 20-32; halogenated polymer 0.1-5.0; and other alloying and/or slag-forming, and/or reducing, and/or binding components, the balance. Size of polymer particles is 0.1-30 0,1-30 μm. Polytetrafluoroethylene can be used as polymer. Particles of flux can be agglomerated or fused. According to proposed method of production, fluxing components are mixed with 0.1-5.0% of halogenated polymer with size of particles within 0.1 and 30 0,1-30 μm. In some particular case fluxing components and particles of polymer are ground into powder and mixed with powder binder, heated to obtain agglomerated material and then atomized to from flux granules. Particles of flux are heated to temperature higher than polymer melting temperature but lower than polymer evaporating temperature. EFFECT: improved quality of flux. 12 cl, 3 dwg
