According to invention, upper limit of particle size of fuel is determined from fractional composition of ore part of batch defined by relationship: df= 0,3dor where df is upper limit of fuel particle size (mm) and dor the same of ore, content of fraction corresponding to upper limit of fuel particle size constituting no more than 10% of fuel weight.
