FIELD: metallurgy, more specifically, process of preparation of raw materials for blast-furnace conversion. SUBSTANCE: method of two-layer sintering of sinter-burden includes successive supply, to moving sintering cars of two layers of sinter burden of different thickness values and with different content values of solid fuel and moisture in each layer; subsequent ignition of burden and building up of rarefaction under sintering cars. Burden is sintered at varying speed of movement of sintering cars determined by the following relationship: V = K.T.m.h.q/t.M.h, Q, where V is speed of movement of sintering cars, m/min; T is content of iron-ore concentrate in burden, %; t is content of solid fuel in burden, %; M, m are content values of carbon in solid fuel of burden in lower and upper layers, respectively, %; H, h are thickness values of burden lower and upper layers, respectively, mm; Q, q are content values of moisture in burden lower and upper layers, respectively, %; K is empirical coefficient characterizing the rate of sintering of sinter burden in both layers equalling 0.1-0.2 m/min. Ratio of weight of iron ore concentrate to weight of solid fuel in burden is within 12-20. EFFECT: higher stability and productivity of process of sintering of sinter burden, increased strength of obtained sinter and sinter yield, reduced consumption of gaseous and solid fuels, metal-containing burden and fluxes. 1 tbl
