FIELD: metallurgy, more specifically, processes for preparation of raw materials for blast-furnace process. SUBSTANCE: method includes successive supply onto moving sintering cars of two layers of sinter burden of different thickness values and with different content in each of solid fuel; subsequent ignition of burden and building up of rarefaction under sintering cars. Ratio of thickness values of burden layers is determined by the following relationship: h/H = K.M/m, where H, h are thickness values of burden lower and upper layers, respectively, mm; M, m are content values of solid fuel in burden lower and upper layers, respectively, %: K is empirical dimensionless coefficient characterizing the rate of burden sintering in both layers and equalling 0.4-2.5. EFFECT: higher stability and productivity of sintering sinter burden, increased strength of produced sinter and sinter yield. 1 tbl
