WAVE-PROPELLED CRAFT Russian patent published in 1997 - IPC

FIELD: shipbuilding; craft employing energy of sea swell and ship's motions. SUBSTANCE: wave-propelled craft is provided with hull, fore bulb and wave propeller in form of controllable hydrofoils which are stowed inside fore bulb provided with inclined recess. Hydrofoil stocks are connected with control device by means of levers and rods. Turning under action of power drive, hollow shaft extends hydrofoil from recess to working position. Wave-propelled craft is compact. Since all main mechanisms of propulsion plant are arranged in fore bulb, it may be manufactured independently and delivered to shipbuilding yard in finished state for new vessel or for vessel in operation.
