FIELD: shipbuilding; propulsors making use of energy of sea waves for ship's motion. SUBSTANCE: wave propulsor has two unbalanced swivel hydrofoils: one control hydrofoil and one tractive hydrofoil. Control hydrofoil is articulated with rudder stock rigidly secured on ship's hull and tractive hydrofoil is articulated to rods. Gear wheel rigidly secured inside control hydrofoil is thrown into engagement with gear to which rods are secured. Control hydrofoil is spring-loaded relative to ship's hull and tractive hydrofoil is spring- loaded relative to rods. Turn of hydrofoils is limited by stops. At approach of skewed flow of water, control hydrofoil deflects from level and transmits torque to rods through gear train; rods set tractive hydrofoil in flapping motion, i.e. performing vertical motion together with rudder stock turning around it. Spring of hydrofoils keep them from feathering position forming angles of attack relative to incoming flow, thus forming lift forces on hydrofoils inclined forward. As a result, control, hydrofoil makes tractive hydrofoil perform flapping motion creating thrust moving the ship. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of making use of sea waves for obtaining thrust for ship's motion. 4 dwg
