FIELD: shipbuilding; engines and propulsors working on energy of sea waves. SUBSTANCE: engine-propulsor has hydrofoil movable connected with spindle which is articulated to hull structural member which is reciprocating vertically imparting kinetic energy to shipboard consumer, for example, to propulsor of "flapping wing" type. Hydrofoil is movable forward or sternward relative to spindle, thus positioning center of pressure closer to bow or to stern relative to axis of spindle. Hydrofoil is connected with angle-of-attack forming mechanisms by means of levers. When hydrofoil is shifted stern-ward, it works as balanced hydrofoil creating the wave thrust and transmitting energy to consumer. When center of pressure of hydrofoil coincides with axis of spindle, it works as engine only transmitting energy to shipboard consumer. When center of pressure of hydrofoil is located in front of spindle, hydrofoil also works as engine even responding to slight waves at any running speed. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of using wave energy under various navigation conditions. 2 cl, 4 dwg
