FIELD: instrumentation, specifically, vibration measuring equipment, measurement of vibrotranslations both in vibrocalibrating equipment and in test of structures and parts for monoharmonic vibration in mechanical engineering and aircraft making. SUBSTANCE: converter of gear is manufactured in the form of stand 2 with light-tight shutter 6 which is mounted on mobile part of vibration test bed 4. Pickup has case 10, measuring rod 8 to which end cantilever with slot 9 and photosensors 11 on its surfaces is attached, rack mechanism 6 used to convert angular movement of axle of stepping motor 19 to linear translation of measurement rod. Case of pickup is installed on immobile part of vibration test bed. Converter and pickup are so arranged with reference to each other that light-tight shutter may move freely in slot of cantilever between light-emitting diodes and photodiodes of photosensors shutting off luminous flux. Microcomputer 16 receiving signals through threshold element 15, integrator 14 and OR gate 13 from formers of signals of photosensors 12 is used to control operation of stepping motor and to count number of steps of rotation of its shaft via code-to-pulse converter 17 and power supply unit 18.
