SUBSTANCE: invention consists in that light absorption indexes κ(λ) are measured at wavelengths 400, 500, and 800 nm, and μ coefficient is calculated from formula μ = 0,01•ln k(400)-κ(800)/κ(500)-κ(800). Chemical oxygen demand is calculated from formula COD = 0.017 [κ(400)-κ(500)]•e380μ. EFFECT: increased accuracy and widened area of media with various dissolved organics composition that may be analyzed.
